Something I’d like to explore is the killers in our favorite franchises, and eventually cross those franchises together and what better way to start than what is probably going to be the most difficult as it spans through multiple continuities. Similar could be said when discussing Leatherface and his multiple families of miscreants in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. I’d still consider Halloween to be a bit more daunting as we have 4 distinct timelines spanning 12 movies (not including Season of the Witch for this topic as we are looking at killers in the continuity of a franchise) . For the purpose of this series of articles, I’m only going to be including kills that were done by killer(s) of the movies. It’s likely I’ll include murders that were insinuated to have been committed by these killers, but I’m not going to include all kills seen or mentioned in movies like a lot of other counters on the web as they break the scope of what we’re trying to accomplish here. So last time, the goal is to see how prolific these killers, not to count Jane Doe who kills herself to further a plotline or the killers themselves when the franchises come to a close.
The Kills
- Judith Myers – Michael Myers first kill; stabs her to death.
- Dead Mechanic (this is his name on IMDb) – Killed offscreen. Has blood on chest, stabbed to death likely?
- Annie Brackett – Throat slit in the back of her car.
- Bob – Stabbed to death; iconic death as he’s left pinned to the wall with a chef’s knife.
- Lynda – Strangled to death.
Conclusion
So what I’m going to do at the end of each of these articles is a breakdown of where we are in the franchise and for that particular timeline. When I move on to another franchise, I’ll create a page totaling things up so we can compare and contrast between franchises. Without further ado, here are the statistics for the original Halloween.
