Alright, wrapping up the H20 timeline so I’ll conclude with some pretty big tables at the end to compare and contrast. Also, just because this is a Resurrection post, I’ll try to remember this is an analysis not a criticism.
The Kills
Franklin – Decapitated. 8 movies in and we’re just now getting a decapitation. Fantastic.
Willie – Throat slit.
Laurie F’n Strode – Stabbed and then dropped off the top of a psych ward. I’m torn between putting this in as a stabbing or counting this as the series first thrown off of a building because I’m sure that’s what actually kills her, but I think I’ll stick with stabbing. Mikey’s gotta have a specialization after all.
Charley – Impaled with a tripod.
Bill – Stabbed to death.
Donna – Impaled by a busted up gate. Still makes more sense than the random spike in the wall in part 6.
Jen – Decapitated with a chef’s knife. I’ve used a lot of chef’s knives of varying quality and while no, I didn’t say too much on the several times where the movie implies the strength of one could hold up a human body which we’ve seen quite a bit in this franchise, but you definitely aren’t cutting through bone, cartilage and everything else in a neck I don’t care how strong you are. That’s what cleavers are for. This is like trying to loosen your lugnuts on your car with a screwdriver. Sorry, not a place for criticism, rant over.
Jim – Killed with bare hands
Rudy – Stabbed to death, then hung up on a wall…as I was saying. I didn’t criticize every other time this has happened, I even called it iconic in the first one. Just wait till I do a Retroview of this series, I’ll tear it apart every time I see it.
Norma – It’s not really clear, it looks like she has a knife sticking out of her torso, but she’s found hanging so let’s just say she was hung.
